Awards Again!:)

WeAreListening Winner

I just received this amazing award from We Are Listening:) “For Me” just won their Singer/Songwriter Awards Round 3! Will soon find out what I won:) It is very cool to win an award for something you’ve written. Winning an award for a song is something that I’ve never thought about when I wrote a song especially, “For Me”. The song was written as a statement against all the reality TV, where we spend our time watching other’s lives than looking inside at our own. We begin to let other people dictate how we feel and act.

In other news, I have been booking up a storm for the west coast! Just added San Francisco (Martuni’s) to my other dates in ABQ, Scottsdale, AZ; San Diego, LA, Portland, and Seattle. I am so excited to return to the west. I love it out there this time of year. Revisiting my solo acoustic style will be fun too since I have devoted much of my time lately to playing electric guitar. When I get back, the band is going to be in full swing with recording and performing. Cas is going to accompany me and we haven’t toured together in forever. Can’t wait to sing in the car and go have fun!

Watching Top Chef in the background and need to get back to getting the word out about these new shows!

Tourin’ And Campin’!

August 20, 2009

Yes, I am going back to the west coast. I love it out there, such a different vibe then anywhere else in the country. From San Diego up to Seattle, the beaches are beautiful and the weather, even when it is raining is still great. I will be playing in ABQ, Chandler, AZ, San Diego, LA, Portland, and Seattle. Still working on booking the bay area and Utah and Colorado.

Last weekend was craziness! The band played for the United Way’s Trailblazer 5K and though the sound was a bit hectic to get right, we had a lot of fun. Made me want to run for next year’s race. Saturday, we drove up to Dry Gulch in Pryor, OK to perform for the campers at Burn Camp put on by the Firefighters Assoc. It was amazing to meet some of these great kids who had been badly burned at one time in their life. I was curious to ask many of the kids how they got their scars but thought it might be rude to ask. The show went great and we were blessed with GREAT sound people. And we had a nice big stage to play on.

Now, I am up at 1:30am trying to get some work done, with booking and what not. The days go by so quick and the weeks even quicker. Some days I can’t wait to go on the road and some days I can’t wait to go back to my own bed.

Awards!

August 11, 2009

What a weekend! Spent Friday night in this cool little hotspot of Arkansas, Eureka Springs:) It is this cute little hippy town, very LGBT friendly, and lots of places to eat! Very fun. Can’t wait to get back over there!

Then went to the Absolute Best of Tulsa music awards (above) with my Adams, Angel and Jimmy and we had a blast. Not only were we nominated for 5 awards but I walked away with two: Best Male Vocalist and Artist of the Year! Thanks to everyone who voted for the last two months! It was such a special thing to hear my name as the winner after hearing the other nominees names.
I almost didn’t believe it,ha.

Now, I am back to work and even recorded my free cover song for my mailing list today (sign up on the front page of the site and get your free covers!), “Hometown Glory” by Adele! Love this song and her voice and glad to take a stab at it.

Getting a bit tired now and been on Facebook for a bit so I am heading to bed. Will have more exciting news soon!

Have a great week:)

Chicago Market Days……

August 6, 2009

Here is a video I made of the band for our trip to Chicago for our show at Market Days! We had a blast and we even sang some of our favorite songs on the car ride!

In other news, it is 4:29am and I am still on my computer after a day of working out, making booking calls, answering friend requests, playing an hour acoustic show, doing interviews, and having some pizza. Updating the calendars now and then heading to bed….

Hope your getting your zzzzzzzzz’s
