In Sd

October 23, 2008

Today I am in San Diego, just hangin out with my good friends, Gina and Terra before I make my way north to LA for the show at The Mint tonight. Terra works here in SD in Residence Life at one of the colleges and I have known her forever. She is great! Gina is a very technologically savvy person (always good to have on your side) and even wrote a book, LifeHacker. There is a website for it too at www.lifehacker.com . Check it out!

Last night’s show at Lestat’s was a blast and glad to play a place in SD that is meant for music and gets a great crowd. AND they recorded the whole show. Think I might put it out as a live disc! Get some live versions of some of the new songs with some banter in between.

I am a bit tired today. Had some kind of food poisoning in Las Vegas and still getting over it a bit. I hate being sick on the road. Fortunately, I didn’t have to cancel anything. That is the worst. I always feel so bad doing that even when I am sick as a dog (you don’t even want to know how bad Monday and Tuesday were). But, I get back in the car and head to the next city and that is what I am about to do right now.

Need to get some new music to listen to…tired of the same ol cds~Eric

Hi-”man On Wire”

October 20, 2008

It has been a while since I wrote on here,…I need to get with the program. Just been busy, busy, busy. I added this movie poster above for the film that I just saw with my lovely friends, Namoli Brennet and Aly K, called “Man On Wire”. This movie is amazing. It is about Phillipe Petit, who in 1974, made a tightrope between the Twin Towers and walked across. AMAZING. Took a lot of time and was almost like a heist. If you ever thought something was impossible, watch this movie and it will change your mind.

Spent this past weekend performing in Chandler, AZ outside of Phoenix at the Wild Card Bar. It was so much fun with a great rowdy crowd (my favorite) and I had quite a few shots of Southern Comfort, I am not going to lie. Even sang karaoke after my show. Met some amazing people and can’t wait to make it back to play there again!

Yesterday, I performed at Tucson Pride alongside my friends like Namoli, Gregory Douglass (who has nicknamed me Corn Dog for some reason), and God-des and She. I just saw those two back in Jackson for Outoberfest where I performed with Angel (my drummer). I have been meaning to do a video for some time and will get to work on it soon!! Pride was great and I even added and extra “Marriage Proposition” verse to the end. Will have video of that soon too.

Kind of had a lazy day (which has been awhile). Will get to my emails, gmail, myspace mail, facebook mail, in a few days. I am touring through Las Vegas and all the way from San Diego up through LA, Sacramento, and San Fran this week. If you and your friends want to come out, that would be awesome! I’ll show you a good time:)

As for now, I need to get my zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz’s. Night~E

Home Sweet Home…

October 7, 2008

I am home! Whether it be for a bit or not, nothing is nicer than home. This time it is a new home. We moved during my touring so it is strange to be able to leave one home and return to another. In some ways, I think it is kind of neat to be that transient, but in other ways, it seems a bit neglectful to my home life. I haven’t blogged in a bit because I didn’t know what to say other than “I Want To Go Home”. Not that I don’t like what I do touring around the country, but i hit a point where a lot was going on back home and I wanted to be in two places at the same time. I had a few days off (tried my best to get gigs all over Florida, but nothing panned out and a few places just suck at getting back to people) and I decided to drive all the way from Athens, GA back home. I still have Panama City Beach and Jackson and probably not the most cost effective to go west and then return east BUT I did it for me. Feels nice sometimes to relax and do what you want to do.

My new place is amazing. It feels like home in a matter of two days. I have to get all my stuff out of boxes and stuff but that is sometimes the fun part. I spent some time in the south with my buddy, Cas and we had a lot of fun just reminiscing. I love her and she is such a deep intellectual person. I got to do a show with Harvey Katz aka Athens Boys Choir and I am amazed by his talent and life. Check him out: www.myspace.com/athensboyschoir and see for yourself. We had a ton in common from being in the LBGT community, Jewish, love of David Sedaris, etc, etc, etc. I think I made a new friend for life.

I have some folks coming over right now to see the new place so I will end with what the lovely Sassy Monroe told me that her drama teacher told her in high school: “If your not nervous before and sweating afterwards, you didn’t do your job”.
