Taking Tulsa By Storm!
August 29, 2008
What a week it has been in Tulsa! Finally got an article in the Urban Tulsa Weekly (the Village Voice-ish paper of Tulsa. Thanks, Gary!) Check it out!: http://www.urbantulsa.com/gyrobase/Content?oid=oid%3A24724
It is promoting the Eric and the Adams show we are doing in town tonight! So excited. Will video tape some of it to show you folks outside the Tulsa area. Also, we were featured in another paper in town called the Spot!
AND…if this town didn’t get enough of us yet, we performed two songs on www.oklatravelnet.com for the show airing today! We performed “Little Boy Blue” and “For Me”. It was fun amping it up with the electric guitar and can’t wait for you to check it out so head to the link for OklaTravelNet!
Last night was amazing too. To see Senator Barack Obama, who I supported a little half-heartedly at first and now am strongly for his campaign, made such a connection with his speech. I can’t wait to see him put his plan into action this fall when he gets the presidency. John McCain just announced his running mate and I was pleasantly suprised to find it to be a woman candidate, Gov. Palin. Either way this election goes, it will be historic for either party. I am not up on her politics but am sure to find out a ton about it all this week with the Republican Convention coverage.
The fall tour is in action and filling in dates fast. Got some amazing things up in the air and ready for them to land happily in my lap:). Thanks to all those who offered to flyer. I sent out a TON of stuff this week for you all!! Yeah!
My dogs are begging for dog food (we ran out last night, those little piggies!) so I am off to the store to go grab some more for those little devils.
Be back soon and check out the links!

Best In Show
August 24, 2008
Just sitting here watching “Best in Show”. I forgot how much I loved this movie (let alone Parker Posey). I leave in a less than two weeks to head out on the road and so excited. I have been out of my element just being at home. I am used to traveling around all the time. It was nice for a little while to not be moving but I am getting the itch again to jump in the car and start gigging round again. I start out in Louisville and then it is all around the east coast, back home, and then the west coast till November.
On a political note, find it strange to see Joe Biden joining the Obama campaign for the vice presidency. I swear Biden was saying some not so supportive things about Obama earlier. BUT, who am I to judge. I am just ready for things to get closer to the excitement of election time. Who will win? You can only guess who I am voting for.
In other news, found the Bigfoot hoax ridiculous. I believe in many things, even Bigfeet I guess (is Bigfeet the plural for a group of Bigfoots? Apparently, the two guys who said they found a dead Bigfoot that had human DNA were once cops who now are unemployed. Some jokes are just not funny.
I added the flyer for the Eric and the Adams show above. We are playing this coming Friday and it is going to be awesome! We had fun at the Chicago show and gonna be great to play in town. Ok, it is 2am, I need to go to bed. Will be more lively in my writing later on,ha. Think the caffeine of the day has worn off….~E
Tropic Thunder
August 18, 2008
Just got back from the movies. Saw Tropic Thunder today and though there are some funny cameos and moments, it was ok. The gay jokes were a bit much (don’t get me started on the “gay” cameo) but I got a small glimpse of what of the backlash of Robert Downey Jr’s character in the film. He is in blackface during the film “getting into his character”. I am very sensitive to issues that revolve around making fun of minorities, but this movie did a lot of making fun of his character for his insensitivity. I didn’t have a problem with it once I saw the movie. In fact, it made me think of the many movies where African-American actors make fun of Caucasians (White Chicks, Coming to America). Is there a double standard? I don’t know. Back in the first half of the last century, blackface had a lot of negativity attached to it becuase African-American actors were not allowed to be in film. The mockery of it also was hard to take. I can understand the sensitivity to it still. I feel the same way with gay jokes from time to time. We all want to be represented positively no matter if it is accurate or not.
Ok, stepping off the high horse and gearing up for a big week. I sent out a ton of emails and I am gathering my high vibrational energy to receive many positive emails back (that is what my new book says to do!). I also just bought a Suze Ormon book. Though she is eccentric and Kristen Wiig imitated her with humor, I love her approach to finance. I am sure her book is going to teach me a lot.
Tonight’s Olympic gymanstics were amazing. I don’t care how critical people are, I don’t know how these athletes do what they do! Pure talent and energy. They all deserve to be where they are:).
Ok, going to bed now…I am fading.~Eric
Seeing Dave!
August 15, 2008
I wish sometimes that I had the time to discuss current events or celebrities like other blogs but since I spend most of my time plotting my career and wearing more hats than a baseball team, I can’t. Once in a while I pass the TV that Ry is watching to catch a snippet of something but then it is back to the office to do computer work whether it be booking (not so much my favorite), publicity (not so much my favorite), working on music (do not spend as much time on this as I should, def. my favorite, or just maintenance work on the sites, updates, etc. Once in a while friends of mine will drag my ass out of the house to experience life and this week, my friend, Courtney got me all the way to Oklahoma City to catch the Dave Matthews band in concert.

This is the pic I took from our seats.

I found this pic online that better represents the show than what my camera phone could muster up. The concert was amazing and they are such a talented band. Dave gets a lot of the attention but its the other band members that bring the music to life like Boyd (violin) and Carter (drums) amongst the others as well. They covered some great songs like “Burning Down the House” and “Sledgehammer”. I used to listen to them a lot years ago and not so much lately. After the show, I want to go back and review why I fell in love with their style from the beginning.
It is now 12:30am and I am still on the computer after sitting here much of the day. Need to go to sleep and wipe my mind off from all the to do list. I am still confirming gigs all over (just confirmed Columbus, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Portland). Soon to add some more so stay tuned.
Ok, sleepy time!!

It Was A Super-market Days!!
August 12, 2008
I had a blast this weekend and you can see bits and pieces in the video above. The Adams (Angel and Jimmy) and I jumped on a plane to Chicago and headlined the Saturday time slot at N. Halsted Market Days to a great, great (Great!) crowd. It was my first time performing electric (with my electric guitar) and I was a bit nervous BUT so excited to change things up. I did play an acoustic set in the middle (Protest Song, We Are the Same, Jolene, Heart Clean) and it was fun, but getting to rock the stage with Angel on drums and Jimmy on bass makes me want to take the show on the road everywhere. Our next show is in Tulsa so it should be fun, too. Thanks to everyone who came out and hung out afterwards so we could sign everything from cds to drumstick.
Can’t wait to head back to Chicago in Nov.
Spent tonight watching the Olympics with my friend, Stephanie. She makes jewelry and is making a necklace for me. She does amazing work so it will be cool to see what she comes up with. Even trying to get her to produce some high-priced merch, too!
The American Men’s Gymnastics Team had some great moments tonight. I need to go back on youtube and watch the opening ceremonies from Friday. Brent, my trainer, was still raving about them today.
I need to go to bed now. It was a rainy day and I thought I wouldn’t get anything done BUT I did. I did the newsletter (did you like the new cover song?), edited the video above, added a few dates to the schedule (Portland, Seattle, Columbus), went to the gym, and did some emailing (and this blog of course,ha).
Time to crawl into bed and get up tomorrow to do it all over again.
Night to you!!

The Night Before Chicago….
August 8, 2008
Twas’ the night before the Chicago show, and all through my home
were so many things to pack up like T-shirts and strings for the show
All the T-shirts laid out, CD’s bunched in pairs
so when I sell them that night, it’d be easier to sell once we’re there
My plotting and planning all done before bed
I’ll still get up ten times cause I forgot to do whatever’s in my head…..”
It is the night before the Chicago show and I am so excited. The trio has played outside of Tulsa only once before (the SXSW show in Austin in March) and we have rehearsed a ton for this show to make sure there are little changes for those who have listened for a while (thank u:) as well as some great new covers that I haven’t played out yet.
There is a laundry list (including laundry) of things to do to. This morning I got not only my T-shirts BUT my brand new T-shirts for Eric and the Adams. Drummer, Angel, designed the front of it so if you like it when you see, tell her! She will smile for you and she has a great smile.
We leave early in the AM and play at 8:30pm tomorrow night. It is gonna be a crazy (but fun!) traveling/play day. To those who will be there, I can’t wait to see you all and introduce you to the talented sounds of Jimmy and Angel (and me,ha).
Ok,…i can’t forget my toothbrush. and guitars. and batteries for the guitar. and strings for the guitars…ok..i need to attend to my packing list. See you soon, Chi-town!

(looks At Clock), Omg, What Time Is It?
August 5, 2008
what time is it that I am writing this you ask? Its 4 in the morning. I’ve been working non-stop answering emails, getting T-shirt orders ready, booking gigs, answering emails from everywhere, I am whooped. I typically just put on a movie I’ve seen a million times to add background noise and just get to work. Time goes by so fast when a movie is on I think. Tonights movies were: Mean Girls, Muppets Take Manhattan, and Overboard. I LOVE Overboard. Goldie Hawn is amazing in it. SHe is just a great comedic actress to me. I also laughed my face off early this morning watching SNL skits with Kristen Wiig. She imitated Suzi Ormon on point and even had this skit where she said “Just Kidding” a million times. It cracked me up.
Ok, I need to go to sleep. More work to be done tomorrow and band practice for the Chicago show. So excited for it this Saturday. I wish I had some words of wisdom but my dog, Duncan, didn’t provide me with any today. Blame him.:(
