The Virginia Sing-ologues!

May 27, 2008

That is right…almost forgot to post this but here it is, my trip through the VA state! Even have a bit of my sorry ass playing Guitar Hero….I don’t know why I can play guitar well (must be all those years of playing on stage) but put a fake guitar with five buttons on it and I am all screwed up. Need to practice, but my heart is set on the drum set from Rock Band. Maybe this Christmas/Hanukkah season, Santa will throw it down the chimney, gently.

This Past Week And Bob Mould..

May 19, 2008

This past week has been crazy but a lot of fun. Virginia has been very good to me thus far, I had amazing crowds in Norfolk and Richmond, that came out, sang along, and picked up the new cd and Tshirts!! Yeah!!! Last night I was sweating from working so hard on stage, my shirt became a bit see through…teaches me to wear a white shirt on stage again,ha.

Tonight I head over to Charlottesville to Club 216 and then it is over to DC tomorrow night, AND… I am psyched to say that Rock and Roll Legend, Bob Mould, gave my DC show a shout out this past week on his blog:

Check it out and thank u, Bob!!:)

Also check out the article written up by Yusef in Metro Weekly!:

I should have posted one of these video blogs a bit earlier but I’ve been slacking. By slacking I mean, running around like a crazy person trying to get where I need to go and play shows! Here is the video blog from DC. I will have one up in the next few days tracking the Virginia shows (I’ll call it the Virginia Monologues!) and plenty of song footage on that one (thanks my Norfolk friends!).

Tomorrow is the NewNowNext Awards taping in NYC and I am SOOOOO curious to see how it is going to go. I never know what to expect at events like this in NYC, but I am looking forward to seeing how it goes. I know what I am wearing and everything…will bring my camera too to get some shots for the blog!:) Don’t forget to vote (if you wouldn’t mind,ha) at:

Guess Who Might Be Moving To Ca Soon????

May 15, 2008

Me! and that is because I am so happy with California’s Supreme Court for overturning the ban on gay marriage. SO happy to hear this and such a big step:)

I still can’t believe these hate groups who try to amend the consitution for their own selfish reasons. Ugh, what do they think is going to happen? That gay marriage will dessimate straight marriage? Grow up, haters!:)

Ok, …will post another video blog tomorrow from Richmond (where I am right now!)~E

I’m So Selfish……

May 9, 2008

(these discs are AMAZING and totally influenced me growing up!)

Gosh, I haven’t written one of these in a while with the video blog. Think I need to. I will have a new video blog from Atlanta (what an amazing show, love Atlanta) up by the end of the day.

I just wanted to check in with you all and say hey.  I am working hard to get around this country (and outside of it too at some point) this year. It’s been a bit rough but no reason to quit. The new cd is doing well and Borders just snatched up another big amount so something must be going right,ha.  I have these big goals for getting out there in a broader way with this new cd. I think that it can stand up against anything out there on the radio/TV/movies these days and I’m trying right now to find the right team to make it happen.

I also have these small personal selfish goals. One of which is to work with some folks that have inspired me like crazy. Folks like Andy Sturmer and Roger Manning Jr of Jellyfish fame, Ani DiFranco, Patty Griffin, Melissa Etheridge, and Edwin McCain. My selfish, selfish goals,ha. Well, today I had something exciting happen with one of these folks. I wrote Andy Sturmer on myspace a nice note saying I wanted to work with him and that he inspired the hell out of me and I wouldn’t be playing music today without his influence (I think my song, “ONLY” is a perfect example) and he wrote me back a nice note!:) How freaking cool is that? Very happy.

Ok, back to the road,…I have a bit of a break right now and going to answer all my emails (thanks to the patient ones!) and throw another video blog up too. Should have some late summer/early fall dates soon too!! If you want me to head to your area, let me know!:)

In Atlanta right now and it is beautiful here. Time to hit the town. Be on myspace later! Chitty-chat it up with me! (Chitty Chat is a trademark of my Denver friend, Mark (of the band, The Trampolines. I love it and can’t take credit for the phrase!)

Music I’ve Been Listening To And A Tribute…

May 3, 2008

Hey there, my blog,

Just got back from a gig in OKC at Galileo’s. It was a fun night and even had Angel playing drums behind me for the set. Drove back home afterwards and am beat. Made a disc of some music I was listening to with stuff I knew and stuff I was wondering what all the fuss was about. The new stuff was the new Madonna song with Justin Timberlake. I like the beats but haven’t gotten into the whole thing yet. Tina Dico’s song “Everybody Knows” is amazing, love her voice. Leona Lewis (the Bleeding Love song) is actually really good. I like the new song. I downloaded The Gossip’s live cd. Never heard much from them before, but their Aaliyah cover was actually pretty interesting. I had some other stuff on their from my friend, Namoli Brennet and I can’t say enough great things about her. Her song, “Faceless Men With Cold Hands” is such an incredible song. I am so proud of my friend:).

Speaking of friends, I got sad news today that my photographer friend, Steve Johnson (he took the back cover of my live cd “One Night Stands”) passed away this week from a heart attack:(. He made jokes a few years back about me getting a tour bus and him being the driver (he drove trucks all over the country) and it made me smile today thinking about us talking about it. He had a great sense of humor and he will be missed.:)

OK, I’m off to bed…time to throw in some “Arrested Development” (Im still on the first season!) and snooze. Night, my friends!~Eric
