Release Me!!

March 30, 2008

Hey! So here is the first installment of the video blog I am starting! It is the cd release party video of the band and I playing “Little Boy Blue”. Angel is on drums, Jimmy on bass, and Ted rocking the electric guitar. SO MUCH FUN. Check it out and let me know what you think. We had an awesome crowd and thanks to Heather for filming us playing this song.

New Song, “only”, Up!

March 25, 2008

After running around all day and feeling like poo (I think it is my allergies), I posted another new song, “Only”, from the new cd. This week is the cd release party and I am super super psyched to play it out with the band in Tulsa. I think we even got in the local paper for it!

Ok, check out the new song and I am going to go lay down on the couch and watch “No Country For Old Men”. Watched “Atonement” last night and it was great. Makes you realize how much power you have with the people around you.

Night night!~Eric

Practice Makes Perfect…i Think Thats How It Goes…

March 21, 2008

Here is a short video of the band (Jimmy on bass, Angel on drums, and Ted on electric guitar) and I practicing in our space for the Cd Release Party in town next week.  We are playing the song “Little Boy Blue”, which is the track we are in the process of making a music video. I freaking love playing with this group of musicians and Cas was smart and brought her camera to practice. Thank heavens, for smart people!

Its been a bit of a whirlwind lately with everything going on for the cd and tour. I don’t think I have ever worked this hard in front of the scenes and behind at the same time. Just when you think you are going to fall apart, some bit of inspiration gives you a jolt and your off again. Sometimes success seems millions of miles away and then sometimes, it seems right on the other side of the door. I guess you just have to not be afraid and open the door.

The Daring And Magnificent Duncan!

March 20, 2008

So yesterday, I let the dogs out to use the restroom and watched Duncan walk around a tree towards the back of our yard. I couldn’t see him for a minute and then called him inside. He didn’t run back. SO, then I put on my shoes and got mad, heading over to the tree to tell him “Um, hello?”.  He was gone. I panicked for a minute and then looked over the big fence to see him in someone else’s fenced in yard ignoring me (yet again) and having a date with the dog next door. We finally got him back and I realized that my lil baby jack russell puppy was no longer a puppy (pictured above) but an adult escape artist. He had dug a hole under the fence to get to the other side. I am trying to capitalize on his strengths now and have him dig me out a coy pond. I’ll just bury a few treats strategically and voala!, zen. ~Eric

Ugh, Jake, the other puppy, just got jealous that I  spent all this time talking about the other doggie in the house, so Jake (in all his glory) had to show him up with a few tricks. Who’s the diva, I don’t know….?

Make Your Best Roller-coaster Face!

March 17, 2008

Cas just posted this video of all of us at Denny’s at 4am after the showcase during SXSW in Austin. We were very hungry and while waiting for our grub, Cas took this little vid of all of us after she yelled, “make your best roller coaster face!”

From left to back to right..Joe and Ingrid from Coyote Grace, Andy Moore, me, Tom Goss, Jimmy Adams(my bass player), Namoli Brennet, and Angel Adams(my drummer)!!

On The Road (like, Right Now..)

March 16, 2008

fancy mcdonalds in TX

I am on the road typing right now! Don’t worry, I am not driving. In fact, my friend and confidant, Cassandra, is driving. We just got back from a party she threw for www.gay.com in Houston, TX at a club called South Beach. It was packed and even had a line out the door for most of the night.  Because I was with Cas, when we left, we got to walk back in the club using the VIP line and waltz right in. We felt VERY important…till we got inside and then we were just like everyone else: milling around looking for something to occupy our time. I even got to eat at my favorite Houston restaurant, Katz’s Deli. I had a corned beef sandwich, a knish, and I was good.

Now we are heading back to Tulsa so she can get some work done and I can get some more gigs on the schedule, and practice with the band for the cd release party next week. YEAH!

I am attaching a pic to this blog tomorrow of the fanciest McDonalds I have ever seen. No joke, it had chandeliers all over the place and paintings on the walls. It looked like an Ethan Allen store with an in-house McDonalds. If you are ever on the outskirts of Dallas (why would you be?), you can see this magnificance all by yourself.

In other news, I am doing a group of Borders Books and Music in-store performances to promote my new cd that they are selling. They should be fun and I am looking forward to working with the Borders folks again. They make a great honey latte too, might I add.

I am getting a bit car sick writing on my computer and all the bumps in these Oklahoman roads. I might yack, so I should put this up and take another swig of my cherry limeade from Sonic. Tom, can you not wait for all the Sonic stops? We should get a sponsorship in tator tots!

I’m out—Eric

Um…did You See?!!!

March 15, 2008

sitting, playingLook what I found! A brand new site and it comes at the perfect time.  On April 1st (not to mention March 27th’s cd release party in Tulsa), the new cd, Resonate, will be available! It has taken a lot of work and time to get to this point and I did not, DID NOT, do this alone. I had the band (Dan Bozek, Erik Kerr, Mike Ofca, and Andy Moore), the photographer (Tania Lezak), the webmaster (Enzo Fiorello-look at this great web site!!), and the graphic designers (Will Boyd on cd, Angel Adams on posters). Lots of amazing folks to thank too. This disc will be in Borders Books and Music across the country and I am doing a few tour dates at some of their locations to promote the disc. Will put those up on the tour page tomorrow!

Ok, on to tour page news…The tour dates are coming up fast and I am SO excited to get back out on the road. Along with the Borders gigs are a number of clubs/bars/coffeeshops all over the west coast in April/the east coast in May. I will have the discs, T-shirts, AND….my special touring buddy, DC songwriter/singer Tom Goss (www.tomgossmusic.com).  SO see you on the tour (page)!

I spent this past week from Wednesday on, at SXSW in Austin, TX. SXSW is one of the biggest music festivals in the country. Tons and tons of industry folks as well as musicians as far as the eye can see. I did a showcase for gay.com/The Advocate Magazine/Absolut Vodka’s party at RAIN and Oil Can Harry’s.  Along with me, Andy Moore, Tom Goss, Namoli Brennet, the band Coyote Grace, Adrianne, and local rockers Alyx Price and The Guise played. We were like a little family going to eat at the same time and most of us staying at the same Motel 6. The first night, a bunch of us got together just to play each other’s songs (and some random covers). I will post them up on my page soon (and YouTube). I am getting started on making my own videos from the road and it will be great once I get the hang of posting them all the time.  We rocked the bars on Thursday and it brought quite a crowd. Will have those pictures up this week too. LOTS going on and though, busy, its all good.

I am going to get back to the grind and want to say, thanks for reading and keep coming back cause its only gonna get better!
